You can use a line out converter: http://www.cardomain.com/shoplist~b~...rface+Adapters I used one on my previous car ('05 Altima) and it worked great.

Like Wilson said, use a line out converter. What a LOC basically does is splices into your speaker wires (I used the rear speaker wires) and converts it to RCA connections. Then you run RCA cables to an amp ...

Yes a line out converter will work, but I had one on my system for a while. I was running to an amp for my speaker which is a little different, but it worked terrible. There was alot of static and the sygnal was not very good. A couple of places told me it was because of interference, and i tried moving it around and it didnt get any better. So from my experience, its tough to get good sound from the stock Head Unit.

^That's true. I didn't experience any problems (I have the second Stinger on that link I posted) but it does leave open the possibility for issues. Obviously, the best case scenario is to replace your h/u but I know you aren't asking that.

In my 00, I ran 2 line converters, 1 to a 4 ch amp and the other to a 2 ch amp which I bridged to 1 ch. The 4 ch ran Infinity separates in the front and Infinity 3 ways in the rear. The bridged ran the 10" sub. Mine was crystal clear and sounded great.

^That sounds like a great setup. See, I'm 36 now and I've had every car except this one and my last one broken into and I just don't want that aggravation anymore. Of course, I have a garage now but that's beside the point. I want to keep the stock h/u and that's that. I know full well that I can get an alarm and all that but I'd rather just add on at this point so the LOC's are perfect for what I need.

I'm 36 as well and have been installing aftermarket h/u's since the late 80s but I wanted to keep the stock h/u as well. I'm at the point where I want to keep things simple. It also deters most thieves when they see a stocker in the dash.

If you install a line out converter make sure you install it behind the radio no shortcuts. This way incase you ever decided to swap out the radio there won't be any problems. You can also get the remote wire meanwhile your back there.

ya know, most amplifiers today have 'high level inputs' where you wire into your speaker outputs, and the amp does the crossovers and pass filters. Whats wrong with that
