yea i couldnt think of a better title for this, but basically, i decided to put my old cb radio back into my truck, but i wanted to velcro it onto the plastic close to were the shifter is. I dont want to mount it because i wont use it that often, and i will probably end up removing it later on as the years go by, so i wanted to get a strong tape to put under the velcro, but i dont want it to leave the sticky residue. Does anyone know of a good tape that doesn't do this? I would velcro it straight on, but that leaves sticky residue everywhere, and if i leave it in there for a year with the florida heat, it'll probably ruin some of the plastic. let me know if u have any suggestions. thanks

take a look at 3m double sided tape. there is an adhesive promoter that helps make the tape stickier. you have to order that stuff seperately though so if you just go with the double sided tape then you should be fine.
it might not be dbl sided, but try the 3m reinforced tape. it looks like it has threads in the tape and it doesnt leave that residue stuff(s) awesome product if you ask me. and its strong too
The 3M clear tape mentined is 3M VHB tape. Make sure it has red release liner. (3M came out with another version of VHB tape 3 years ago (white foam with brown liner), and it does not hold crap) It is not cheap, $15-20 a roll, but it holds good. Any sign-supply shop should be able to sell you some. Use rubbing alcohol. If you think it's clean, go baclk and clean again. I hung 30# Dibond panels with VHB, and they stayed put.
