I have a 2005 Tacoma and my air bag senor is on in the dash. What are some causes to that?

unplugged connector is the most likely cause. Look for the bright yellow wires, those are for the airbags. Check the ones under the seats too.

Let's hope it's that simple. Same thing just happened to me. There was an open recall on my truck for some sort of passenger cabele (recall #501 or something) but that didn't fix it. Dealer said I needed to change a clock spring cable or something. $470!!!!!!

Clock spring cable? You shouldn't have to replace that until your muffler bearings go out. Weird man.

I replaced the clock spring cable, known as a Spiral Cable in my '98 Tacoma. The local dealer wanted $500 alone for the Cable, I got it from Toyota of Dallas for ~$180 or so shipped. Very easy to replace and shouldn't take more than an hour your first time. Just follow the FSM and you'll be fine should you decide to switch it out yourself.

ALSO - if your clock spring is damaged, your cruise control and horn usually doesn't work either.

keep in mind that while that light is on, the airbags will not go off if you get into an accident

I have 1 98 Avalon. First the cruise, then the airbag and horn stopped working. Replacement of the spiral cable (Toyota of Dallas) fixed all 3. Was an easy replacement!
