New battery and bracket doesn't fit

I had to buy a new battery for my truck and the bracket wasn't big enough to fit over the new one. I tried 3 different batteries and still no luck so i ended up buying a new bracket but i was just wondering if anyone else ran into this problem and what they did, or does anyone know if Toyota has batteries specially made so that only their brackets will fit over them?

What size battery did you get? OEM is 24F w/o the towing package, 27F w/ the package. If you go with a different size, bracket will not fit.

I used a large duralast battery. It was wider than stock. I just modifyed the OEM brackets and made a new top plate bracket for the top. I took all of 45 minnutes

I had the same problem. I ended up just taking it to Toyota and since I was still under warranty I got a new battery free.
