Rear fold down seat carpet

Well, here's what I ended up doing for my dog. Picked up a yard and a half of automobile carpet from my nearby upholstery shop for $14.50.

Taped off each recessed area.

Applied 3M Super 77 to the seat back and carpet.

Applied the carpet and pressed it down firmly.

Repeated the same process for the other side.

Here I am spraying the back of the carpet. I used a couple coats on each piece, let them get tacky before putting them down.

Finished product.

Dog approved!

Job well done! Very neat and I bet the dog appreciates it, too.

And, you probably aren't even a "Toyota professionally trained carpet installer"....

Looks great, good job! I bet carpet like that would stop a few rattles for those of us that mainly use the rear seats to store stuff behind. Or maybe I exaggerated that a wee bit, but you get the idea.

Don't forget, "Toyota certified dog installer." Its a pretty extensive online course, you know.

Another option would be to buy a roll up yoga mat that you can get at any sporting goods store, or WalMart that can easily be laid down across the back of the seats, and easily put up out the way when not in use.

Hey
How is this holding up for you and the pup? Did it survive for one year?

Hoping you are still here.

Very nice Patrick! My suggestion would have been a piece of marine carpet glued just as you have done!

It is holding up great even after being vacuumed many times. The carpet came from a local upholstery shop and appears to be good quality stuff. They used the same stuff to carpet my boat.

Great, may have to think about that one in the future. Currently I have a sling over the back seats to contain the dog hair and sand and dirt and slobber and........

Yeah, I definitely might consider doing this. My lab is only 4 months old, but he will eventually ride in the back seat out of his kennel to and from the marsh.
