2005 Tacoma 4X4 Vibration

I purchased a 2005 V6 Double Cab 4X4 Tacoma in December, there is a vibration/humming out of the front end caused by the wind. It happens at around 80 MPH with no wind and varies on the speed with wind. For some reason I think the skid plate is causeing it, if anyone knows what causes this could you let me know.

Sorry to hear you have this problem.....I also have a wind/noise vibration on my 2001 tacoma d-cab. I think it comes from the seal between the door and the body but it only makes the noise at about 80+ and with the right cross wind. Quite annoying but the dealer cant reproduce it (understandably). I just deal with it since its fairly infrequent.

GOTTA LOVE THE DCAB TACOS

This definitely comes from the front end. It vibrates like it is a tuning fork and it is not out of balance tires

If you have the optional aluminum skid plate, that's the cause. From what I understand, Toyota has already stopped production on it until it solves the problem. I haven't read anything about vibrations coming from the standard skid plate.
