Oil Change/ Prius

Just wondering......

If an oil change is performed on a Prius, it is typical to perform an RPM check on most vehicles - this is to say that the RPM is raised to pressure the oil filter and check for leaks.

As the Prius, does not engauge the gas engine until 80Km's - does this require a road test to check that pressure is sufficient? or is there a way to do this without road testing the vehicle?

Is priming the filter prior recommended as well, to avoid vapor or air locks at that speed, when the gas engine engauges?

Inquiring mind wants to know.......

You mean you want to start the ICE to check for leaks, right?

Get into the car and Power On. Wait until it goes to Ready. Then floor the gas pedal. The ICE should instantly start. Once it starts, take your foot off the gas pedal and the ICE will return to its usual "idle" speed. It won't sit there screaming away.

You can then go out to check for leaks.
