Speed Readout Display Problem

I have 1400 miles on my 2005 Prius and have just encountered my first problem. My speed readout is off by upwards of +30 mph. For example: while doing 30 it reads somewhere around 70. It climbs and lowers in a ateady fashion it doesn't just jump to a number. I chose not to drive it too long as I don't know if this is or may cause other computer related problems.
Needless to say I'm a "newbie" here and am looking to be directed to any discussions on this issue.
Also, after driving a short distance with this problem I returned home and let the car sit for awhile hoping the computer might reset itself. After 20 minutes a short ride around the neighborhood found that the problem persists.
Any help out there? Thanks, Dan Weitzman

Did you perhaps switch to kph (metric) readout? I've never put mine on metric readout but I would check that first...
Good luck,
Steve

Yeah, what shesla said. I think you might have inadvertently (or maybe someone decided to play a trick on you and) switched to km/h. Although, 30mph is ~50km/h.
