I am just wondering about how reliable these cars are. Are they going to last for a long time or is it always going to be in the shop getting fixed.

Toyota has yet to replace a battery under warranty. They have very good reliability. I think of the Prius, Cressida, Tacoma, Land Cruiser, 4Runner, & all Lexuses as "elite" TMC vehicles in terms of reliability.
