Reliability

I am thinking about buying a brand new prius. I am just wondering about how reliable these cars are. Are they going to last for a long time or is it always going to be in the shop getting fixed.

So far, they've been fairly reliable. Toyota has yet to replace a battery under warranty. There have been some replaced out of warranty but those were for older models (one was a Japanese-spec 98, the other was a US-spec 2001) with well over 200,000 miles on them.

They have very good reliability. I think of the Prius, Cressida, Tacoma, Land Cruiser, 4Runner, & all Lexuses as "elite" TMC vehicles in terms of reliability.
