Along with the SC430, the Prius is a car I'm extremely curious about. If any owners would like to post what you think of it here I'd be grateful. If the rest of you want to comment I'd like it too.
I test drove the gen 1... Its an amazing little car, I just wish you could get it with a 5spd instead of that single gear variable whatever it is they call that thing. It gets neat/cool points for its hybrid motor

i don't have one, and i've never driven one, but i think it's really cool. Now all they have to do is change it slightly to give it more power. I love hybrids because of all the potential they have.
the reason there is no prius section is because not many ppl would post there, and most ppl who buy prius' don't buy them for performance, they buy them for the gas mileage and uniqueness.
I think the car's great, myself, the only detractor would have to be the styling. If they put that engine into a Corolla or something I'd buy it in a second.
Actually, I own a gen 1 prius. It is 2001 model and it almost have 120000km on it. It didn't have any problem at all since i own it. For sure i think it save a lot of fuel. One tank of gas (40L) enough for me for around 800km. And I think it's max speed is 160km/h (since I can't go faster than 160).
My daddy has an 02 Prius. The 04s are nice though, like them better. Here's a question, why don't they supercharge the gas motor? It would be more efficient and give the car a little more needed power.

yeah.....since I need to travel between windsor and toronto almost every weekend.
For the supercharge issue, I think it is because the engine bay didn't have enough space for the supercharger. Also the max engine speed just have 4500rpm (someone told me), the engine can use fewer metarial than a normal 1.5 engine, so that it can't withstand the boost from the supercharger (I'm not sure)???
Btw.....I think sc is wasting more fuel than n/a......I heard somebody said sc mr2 is consume more fuel then n/a mr2.....as well as sc previa compare to n/a previa........
well yeah, that's because it's designed for performance instead of economy.
if u force more air in, without increasing fuel, u get more thorough burning, meaning less CO, however, u also get more SO2 because of the sulfur in gasoline.
I work for a Toyota dealer, I'm getting alot of people in on them. I have sold two, a couple others around the floor. Have drove the demo on many road trips under different conditions. Great car.
