Well, if you look it up, most of the name that Toyota come up with for their cars are pronounced using the Japanese context.
Like "Celica" The spelling in Japanese is "セリカ" which is "Se-Ri-Ka" But here in the US, it's "Se Lick-A"
Or "Camry" it's " カムリ " which is "Ka-Mu-Ri" which is similar to our way of saying Camry in the US.
So, same goes for the "Prius" Which is " プリウス " Which is "Pu-Ri-U-Su " Or simply "Pu-ree-oo-su " Knowing Japanese people can't say English without adding an additional sound like "O" or "U" Then " Pree-oos" is the correct way of saying the name.
