Some 2010 Prius vehicles may exhibit an engine under cover that has warped at the front edge after oil maintenance has been completed. An updated engine under cover is now available to address this condition.
This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.
There are three types of clips:
• 11 plastic to thin metal (Part No: 90467-07201)
• 2 plastic to thinner metal (Part No: 90467-09227)
• 1 plastic to plastic (Part No: 90467-07166)

"This email is in regard to the oil access door not staying in place on the above mentioned vehicle. I've always had the oil changed at the dealership. I'd like to think the service person would've confirmed this door was properly & securely closed. I've read that there are other Prius owners with the same problem/concern. The way the door attaches obviously is a problem. Does Toyota plan on issuing any kind of repair/replacement for this problem? Looking forward to your response."
Unfortunately the service guy from Lane Toyota automatically assumed I hit something, and said it wouldn't be covered by warranty.
I disputed and tried to get it replaced under warranty, but to no avail. Only now I noticed that so many other Prius owners were also experiencing a same problem.
