Unhappy oil filter location

I am new to Toyota and recently purchased the Highlander Hybrid and am very happy with it. I just turned over 3K miles and went to change the oil and filter. However, I could not find the filter. Can anyone tell me where it is.

You can feel it under the aluminum exhaust cover up front in the center.
Toyota say's to remove front skid plate, but I just squeeze an oil wrench in and replace it by feel. I recomend Royal Purple synthetic oil & Wix filter.

Thanks for the reply. I check it out tonight. I already have a Wix filter. When I asked for a filter at my local auto parts store that is the only one he had that would work. He also said it was the same filter that went on a Massey Fergusson lawn mower. I have been using Mobile 1 in all my vehicles snf other equipment for the last 10 years with good success. Never heard of Royal Purple before. Is it something new?
