I've installed plenty of systems and I'm not worried about my skills perse but I really don't know much about the charging system of a hybrid and how Toyota works in terms of its voiding warrantees.
Here are my thoughts.
-add another good 12v battery in the back with a capacitor to isolate the draw as much as possible, hopefully the car won't really even know it is there
-keep the sytem as effiencet as possible, single ported 12 at 89db with class d amp, and something like 150 watts for the separates up front.
Any of your ideas will be greatly appreciated and I'll help you design a system if you ever need help. My last home theatre sub box was a 350lbs coffe table with a pair of 12's in a horn, ever seen that before?

That's actually pretty mild compared to what some of the home enthusiast are doing now-a-days with the infiniti-baffled systems that essentially make use of ones attic and or dead space behind the drywall in most houses. I saw one site with about 12 15-inch horns in it and it took up NO space in the room as it was all done using the open air space behind the room. I had thought of doing this myself but then realized that my existing dual 15" 750watt subs already go down to 16Hz with a 115db so there was really no point in getting any further down the chart.
Of course, this type of sub performance in a home theater makes sense. In a vehicle, it's just dumb IMHO as your viewed simply as another young idiot riding around going deaf and looking stupid (i.e. un-cool) to anybody who really matters (intelligent people).
