Tire "Warranties"?

We have less than 18K miles on our 2006 HiHy equiped with the OEM Goodyear Integrity tires. As I understand it, these tires have a 60K treadwear warranty. I realize that it's a pro-rated deal so no issues there. But my question is..."Has anyone been able to get Toyota to handle this at their service center or do I need to take it to the Goodyear dealership?" If so, can I select a "higher quality" tire when they do the replacement? We are almost to the wear bars in less that 30% of the "rated" mileage and winter is coming so I don't want to be slipping around on worn out tires.

Follow up - The stock Goodyear Integritys were down to the wear bars after 21K miles. Toyota dealership would not do anything but I was able to get the local Goodyear dealer to give me credit for the premature wear. Retail on the original Integritys was $109. They gave me $62.37/tire credit and they matched the lower price of their competitor (Discount Tire) who was right across the street for a higher-end tire (The Fortera Triple Tred design tire) of $144/tire. After all was said and done it cost us $400 for a new set of TRUE 60K mile tires that are also rated equivalent to snow tires. They look aggressive but are actually fairly quite.
