Unhappy HH Problems

I went green and purchase our Toyota Hybrid Highlander Aug. 29th. Everything went well until...

Monday 9/19/05. Experienced multiple warnings from the dashboard so drove it into Toyota service. They couldn’t find a problem but did a 4 page computer printout that confused the heck out of them so they sent the results to the California office. End result – our HH experienced a low fuel problem. Problem is we didn’t get below ¼ of a tank and when the problem occurred it was at three-quarters of a tank? Took the car home Monday afternoon.

Tuesday 9/20/05 the same thing happened – warnings and check whatever lights. Drove it back to to Toyota service and there it stayed until Thursday 9/21/05. They had no idea what was wrong with our HH but it was fixed. The analysis was in the hands of the Toyota Corporate office now.

Friday 9/22/05 –*it happens again! Drove all of two blocks when the message area in the center of the dashboard started sending messages... reminded me of that robot on “Lost in Space”..when it would say “that does not compute, that does not compute” and throwing its arms around!

Anyway the messages ran the gamut from ...Check Hybrid System... to Check AWD(?)... to Check FSW(?)... Then the lighted icons started to flash... like the skidding icon and the engine icon..
And finally the car just died! No power, no motor – not anyone of the three motors worked. We called for a tow and when we arrived at the service dept. they were all very nice but were like “what did you do to the car?” You could tell that’s what they were thinking because one of the senior mechanics said... “I drove it for 70 miles and didn’t experience a problem!”

So it’s now Tuesday 9/27/05 and we still don’t have our HH back. They now think it’s faulty CAM sensors. What would CAM sensors have to do with these problems? I think the computer is at fault... Anyone have any ideas?

It’s Thursday 9/29/05 and our HH won’t be ready for pickup until tomorrow –*Friday 9/30/05.
They’re still “testing” it out!

Anyone else having problems like we are experiencing?

USA HH Starting Problem

Did your problem get resolved? Bought a HH 2 months ago and on two occasions, it just wouldn't start: at first, key fob did not unlock door-manually opened door-no interior lights came on-put key into ignition-dash lights started to come one-then just faded. 20 minutes later, car started right up. Dealer check up today found nothing wrong. Dealer asked my wife if she knew how to start the vehicle.
