xB Pricing

Guys,

is it true that xB's can not be "bargained" for? Meaning is there a dealership or any of you out there that have paid less than sticker? currently i am thinking about buying a xB but am deciding on how much to thrown down on the down payment as well as how much i should pay...

Well I am a certified Scion Salesman, so this is how it goes.
You can buy a scion under the M.S.R.P. However the dealership that is selling it to you under msrp will have to change all of it's advertised pricing on their internet site, their pricing booksheet, and they will have to sell them for that same price to anyone who is buying one when they have their prices advertised for under msrp. Scion frowns upon selling the cars under msrp. Our dealership at one time had alot of automatic xB's on the lot at one time. So, in their thursday through Sunday advertisement in the paper they had a "coupon" for 400 dollars off(pretty much most of the profit in the car)

Chances are you are never going to run into this situation, but that is the only way to buy one under MSRP.

Even if I wanted to buy one I would have to pay MSRP.

And besides, the price of the car is CHEAP, let the dealer make their 400 dollar profit. That's the point of them doing business, to make a profit.

Now if you MUST negotiate, and you feel like you are getting ripped off by paying msrp, then look at a CE corolla. You can get a discount and rebate on that and end up paying a little less than a Scion, but you still won't have power windows, door locks, abs, VSC(XB), keyless entry(xB) and the uniqueness of the Scion.

Oh also I'd like to mention that if you're a recent college graduate, or are going to be in the next 6 months you can qualify for a 400 dollar rebate.

geesh take it easy chief. was just asking a question didn't say i was trying to nickel and dime i was just trying to research the info on the car much like i did when i bought my STi. just trying to learn the ins and outs... but thanks for the info...

Look for a program factory exec car. My dealer has two of them with 5,000 miles on them. They can deal on those.

Sorry, I was just talking in general, nothing towards you. Alot of people feel the need to negotiate and feel like they are getting ripped off if they don't drive the price down.

......intresting.... and they make at minimum $700 dollar profit now a days and at first they hardly made any profit but that's just because Scion is just in it's first years they're slowly increasing the price as Scions as they gets more popular. These Xb's seem to com with alot of creature comforts. Are the the majority of new units at a dealeship "barebones" models? And what is the the difference of an automatic vs. manual equipped model? IE keeping starting price under 15k
