XB any good in winter?

Hi all. I currently have a Lotus Elise which will have to be garaged when the weather here in the northeast gets nasty. I love the look of the XB, and was wondering what people's experiences are with driving them during the winters around here.

xBs are very good in the winter due to the stability control, traction control, abs and ebd. I live in Rhode Island and winters arnt too fun, but this thing handles like a 4wd suv. and its pretty tossable so you wont miss the elise too much

LOL

You are kidding right???

Stability control?
Tossable.

Dude they handle like a front wheel drive car with snows on it.
No better , no worse.

My other car is a Subaru STI, so please trust me on this ok??

These things DO NOT HANDLE like a 4wd equipped car.
Stability control is more of a gimmick in this car than anything.

If you want FWD fun you need a car with a LSD. xB's are good winter cars but I'd recommend getting a set of dedicated snow tires if your concerned with winter traction. Of course, I recommend snow tires to anyone located in a snowbelt state.

Better Than we expected on ICE-n-SNOW

Hi Guys,

We live 1 block from Lake Superior in the UP (Upper Michigan).
We get 300 inches of snow here every winter.

The streets are usually plowed but that leaves them SNOW covered and often ICEY.

On ICE and SNOW the BOX does amaizinly well.
On DEEP (fresh or packed) SNOW the xB's low ground clearance is obviously a handicap.

SO as far as STAYING on the SNOW & ICE covered roads the BOX does MUCH BETTER THAN we would have hoped. (stability control)
