Radio Problem on New XA

My Scion XA is only two months old, but already I have encountered this strange problem on a number of occasions. While I am driving, my preset radio station will change to another station on its own. This has happened both on AM stations as well as FM ones. For example, if I am listening to 1010 AM, the radio will suddenly skip to 1020 with static reception. If I am listening to 98.3 FM, it might jump to 98.5. Once I put it back on the preset station, it stays there for the duration of my trip. But this has occurred at least a dozen times already since i have owned the car. I spoke to my local mechanic (not Toyota), and he said that the tuner is bad and needs to be replaced. He said the problem will get worse, and so I should contact Toyota service to have them replace the radio. Needless to say, I am quite upset over this! Has anyone else experienced this problem? Thanks!

P.S. - I have an appointment with Toyota tomorrow morning for them to check out the radio.

USA radio problem on 2006 scion xa

i have the same problem with my 2006 scion xa. it changes radio stations when the car is cold - usually within 5 minutes after starting the car. if i park the car and it cools off, it does it again. i have brought it to the dealer twice for that problem and they state they can't verify the problem. they have my scion since december 1, and it is now december 7. when you brought your scion to the dealer what action did they take? this problem with my scion has been going on for a year, maybe i should just stick in a crystal set and earphones...

I had this happen with my 06 xA. Had the radio replaced under warranty, no problems since. I believe the first batch of 06-style radios were all defective with this problem (I got my car very early in the model year).
