XA ac problem

I have a 2006 and the ac either works, or does not work. I can drive to store and it will not kick in, but on way home it may work like a champ. This is driving me nuts. Any ideas of what I should be looking for? AC lite will be on but no ac. HELP. Got to be something simple. I sure would like it to work all the time! Thanks guys.

How many miles on your xA? It's not still under warranty is it?

It could be any number of things ranging from a bad relay to a failing compressor.

Out of warranty. When it works, it works fine. Seems the hotter it is the less likely it is to come on. I checked all fuses and connections. It may work 4 or 5 times in a row and also after it works, I can turn it off and back on as many times as I want and it will work. Only seems to balk after a new engine start, so I may hop in car and drive to store and blow warm air, but on the way home it may start up. How do I check relay? Dealer is 70 miles away so that makes it hard to find time to get it checked. I know its something simple. (I hope)

Hmmm. Coming home from work today it would not come on so I kept pushing the ac button on and off several times with no luck, then I turned the fan to off and then back on and the ac kicked in. Just trying to narrow down what the problem could be. Still wondering if it is sticking relay problem.
