tire spins = CEL?

Hey guys. I was driving to my friends house in the rain tonight and I was at a 4 way stop uphill. When I hit the gas again, my tires spun in the water for a second, then right after that, my check engine light came on. Then on my way home, it went off. Anybody know what could have caused this?

Thanks.

I don't think you have much to worry about. Once i was driving in the snow and a guy turned left wihtout noticing i was coming on the road. I hit the break and in an effort to try and shift to a lower gear i accidently pushed the shifter ahead and moved it to reverse. The car stopped, but my engine light came back on as well. When i got home and pulled the key out and started the car again it went away. If the light doesn't come back on you are okay.

It's possible you got a little too much moisture in your MAF or something similar to it causing a sensor to trip temporarily.
