very very confused here :/

Ok here I go again...

So after Church tonight, we all go to the regular pizza place we usually go to afterwards and my wife meets us all there because she was comming home from a wedding that she was a brides made at. When we left we were driving seperately and she was behind me the whole way home.

When we got home she said she noticed two times, some kind of spark hitting the road near the left side of my car. She said it looked like I was throwing cigarettes out of the car. I don't smoke though, I had all the windows down but I didn't throw anything out. The whole way home there was nobody in front of me to throw anything either.

I'm really confused at what this could be, I thought maybe pieces of brake pad or something? But wouldn't they have a hard time finding their way thru my hub caps, and why would they be falling apart anyways? Has anyone heard of this? Is my car losing limbs or what? Am I just running over rocks in the road and being paranoid?

Thanks guys.

The first thing that comes to mind for me would be belts worn through on the tires and sparking the pavement but other then that, I'm baffled.

I looked around under the car and around the wheel wells and behind the wheels (the best I could) nothing seems loose or dangly or out of order. I did find a few spent cigerette butts stuck in little places under my car though, maybe I was just running over proples freshly smoked and thrown out butts. Tonight I'm going to switch cars with her and get behind and see if I can see what she's talking about. I'll try to take some pics to let you guys see if there's anything out of order if I can find the digicam.

Thanks.

There are a few things that it could be. The first thing I was thinking about was that maybe one of your tires are worn down to the steel belts and causing sparks. The other thing I was wondering...do you have studded snow tires? The last thing could be that your front brake-pads are worn down to metal to metal, causing sparks every time you hit your brakes.
