Cool 2007 Tc Performance question

Hey guys,

I bought my 2007 Scion Tc with manual transmission 1 week ago. I'm not sure if the rumors are true so i might as well ask here to see what you guys think. Can i "race" the car when i only got 300miles on it or is it a bad idea to be accelerating over 4k rpm's and peeling off with such a new car? I heard that i should wait till 1k miles and even 2k miles and some people tell me that i should just wait till 500miles.... Not sure what to think lol.

Is i true? that it will mess up the car and/or loose performance? Thanks for the answer guys.

You need to give the engine time to "break in." I wouldn't beat on a car for the first 1000= miles. Right now you still have the possiblity of extra contaminents in the oil since the engine is new. It's not very likely but is possible.

You also need to give your engine time for the piston rings to seat properly. If you beat your car too hard right away, your engine might start to burn oil prematurely .

I know it's temping but give your car a little time to wake up.

P.S. Never beat on your car until it's up to it's operating temp.

Thank you for the response

Yeah, i was very stupid, i've been reving it up above 4 and even 5 , did couple peel off's and fast driving. Hopefully this didn't affect the car. I will calm down for now, i really don't wanna mess it up lol.
