Japan TC Tunning help

So I got a buddy of mine who's getting pretty far on his tuning with his TC. He's starting to run out of all the bolts on and is planning a turbo in the future. He installed a AEM cold air on the car and it seems like it chocked the car out. Because now it will not rev over 3k as if it hits some sort of fuel cut. It feels like a MAF issue but I do know it needs tuning something fierce. So what I'm looking to do is find him some tuning software for this guy to set him up with. Without having to run a standalone or some rediculous piggyback. What out there availible for the TC that we can check out to make sure we set him up with the right stuff. Thanks ahead of time.

Its a MAF issue. You don't need to tune until you boost. The MAF is very fragile in these cars. The same thing happened to me when I put in my first CAI and right after I had the SC installed. Replacement of the MAF sensor is usually the only solution.

I'd go AEM F/IC when you boost it.

I was hoping for something more like Sniper or SCT. But I then remember this is like apples and oranges when it comes to Japanese and Domestic ECU's

Thanks.

Yeah. You're going to need something a little more robust like the F/IC or eManage. Check with Dezod they make a "black box" and some other stuff specifically for the tC.
