Buying a tC, need insight.

I have a 1990 Camry, and things just keep going wrong with it. Had to pay 800 to replace the rotted gas lines, tank, and straps, no to mention the filler neck has just rotted out and is now leaking. The exhaust has a few rust holes in it, the rack squeals, the back end is sagging, theres rust on every wheelwell and two giant dents on the roof and trunk from a tree branch. Oh, and ive been hit twice since i got it.

So im looking into a 2006 Scion tC. It's a 5-Speed, and its immaculate. And its got 19000 miles. The dealer wants 11500, should i suggest lower since i have the cash available?

Anything interesting i should look for? And about how much is a good price?

11500 for 19k isn't bad but as a rule I offer lower. They're hurting to sell so take advantage.

I got my 06 tC from a private seller in Aug 06 for about $14500 with 14000mi on it

if you're offering cash then ask for a lower price.

someone correct me if i'm wrong but there were certain years where the tc was recalled because if something hit the piece of glass in front of the moonroof when it was open, it would shatter. ask for service paper work to make sure it was replaced

Thats the 05.

I think im going to wait till summer. 2 more months. My Camry has already been hit in my schools parking lot because none of this idiots can drive, (college kids think they can drive)

I test drove it today, and in usual fashion was scared shit since ive never driven a stick before. So my first experience was in a 2006 Scion tC, and i have to say, even though i stalled it twice, it was a blast. I cant wait till i get some practice and go back in 2 months to buy another.

I got in the car, and the guy was like, go ahead back it out, and im like ok? never drove a stick before.

I had a bit of trouble when i stalled it at a light (no one learns stick on their first 2 minutes) and i couldnt get it restarted. I had to actually take the key out, put it back in and start it. I guess i just got to get used to a 5speed before i go head first and buy a 13,000 dollar car and not know how to drive it.

Other then that i did fine, car is immaculate compared to my rotting 90 Camry.

Tried that, they stayed firm and told me some bullshit like "whered you see that price?" and i was like "online?" and their like "oh thats our most competitive pricing, we cant go any lower..."

They have it listed at the dealer for 15,995, so if u didnt see the internet ad you could walk blindly into it and buy it for way more then it is.

It did come with a 7 year 100,000 mile warranty, which isnt bad, wish it was a higher mileage warranty cause ill do that many miles in like 4 years easily, lol.

Well, im definitley putting it off till Summer. If im going to learn on a stick, id rather not burn out the clutch on my own car, and practice on junk cars that my grandfathers buddy who owns a junkyard is going to drop off at my house for practice. Well see.
