tC engine

does the tC have the same 2.4 engine as the camry? if so, could you throw a camry turbo on with a little modification? and does anyone know the suggested base price?

I've been looking at other forums and I think the number that is floating around right now is $16,800 USD but we never know until it is official

I'm not sure if you know this already or not, but there will be a supercharger that scion will be coming out with for this engine.

there probably is, since customization is big in japan. look for some japanese parts sellers or camry enthusiast sites and see what they did with the 2AZ engine over there.

if they do come out with a S/C that could be good for Solara owners, since those with 4Cyls got shafted (only the V6 offers a S/C)

meh, knowing toyota, they won't give the warranty on the camry or solara. just like the new 1zzfe SC, they won't warranty pre-03 corollas, or any celicas.

Scion is supposed to offering a "surprisingly affordable" supercharger for the tC........think $2000.000

$2, 000 ? wow that is cheap but very unlikely unless u have connections and know something none of us do.

Well, i had a 01 Corolla and had to sell it. The reason, from what ive heard, is that the TRD S/C is not covered by warranty because of the custom work that needs to be done so the supercharger performs correctly. That would make sense but the supercharger for the 1zz in the celica is said to work except that it would not fit (hood clearance)

Injen has a a short air intake for the 2.4 L engine, costs around $210.00 for the gen. 5 Camry. Search the web for the best price. I keep waiting for someone to come up with something for my '03 Camry SE 2.4L engine, thats why I monitoring the Scion's mods.

K&N does have a drop-in filter for my Camry, but does not mean it will fit the Scion.

Happy hunting!
