question about scion tc

I was thinking of picking one up within the next couple weeks (or atleast go to the dealer and talk specifics). but i've been curious as to some of the extra accessories. I've been looking at the scion.com website and it doesn't show the springs or anything like that. I wanted to know if the springs were worth getting, and a question especially for the exhaust. Is the exhaust worth getting? how much would it produce (hp/torque?)? Any info and suggestions on what accessories to get are welcomed.

i was thinking of super white, 5 speed, with the b-pillar, alarm (is that worth it? what's the difference between that and the factory alarm), and I want the 18" rims and tire package.

i just checked that site and it only has a limited amount of accessories and/or other parts for the tC. I'll try googling parts when the time is right i guess.

definately get the springs. I'd also recommend the rear sway bar. the handling is pretty good stock but much improved with these two mods. plus, w/o the springs the wheels look too small. not so when it's lowered. as for the exhaust, I think it adds a few hp, something like 3-5.

thanks for the info. I def. want to get it lowered (probably go through the link listed above for the springs instead of dealer). Well I'll take it one thing at a time. I'll have to talk to the dealer when i'm about to buy the car. I'll see if the dealer can cut me a deal when i buy the car. either that or i'll buy else where and install myself. suspensions aren't that hard. I just don't know if it'll void the warranty cuz they weren't the ones to install the suspension. we'll see.

but yeah, thanks for the info.

USA Suspension tuning desired

I definately agree with chris0. I researched it heavily and I think Car & Driver said it the best:

"too much up and down in the suspension, too much body roll. There's nothing here that couldn't be improved with suspension tuning, plus a wheel-and-tire upgrade. And with its modest base price, the tC lends itself to owner enhancements."

From autocross experience with the car, I would definately get the 18" with the lower profile rubber, rear anti-roll bar, and the springs. I think the TRD springs lower it about an inch or so, but not to much to be impracticle (uncomfortable and unforgiving) in daily driving. Not to mention the car does have a rather large wheel well and lowering it does improve the look too.

Later.
