Test drove 05 DC Tundra today. Sweet.

I was just stopping by to look at them again, and got suckered into test driving the exact truck I would want when the time is right. A White DC Tundra SR5 ( Plain jane model.). It drove very well , and was smooth shifting and very quiet. I will have to get the optioal Alloy rims installed. I can't do the steel rims. I think I will stay with the 16 " wheels . I see no need in the 17" for my application and driveing. Just wanted to share, Oiler

How was the power? I drove an '00 Tundra a few years ago and to me it seemed underpowered and the shifting was a typical Toyota automatic (slow to respond).

Well I have to say , I didn't get into it. It had good pick up ( to me anyhow ). It was very Road smooth, bumps and all. The shift was very smooth.Barely could feel it. The Cab was quiet also. I thought it had good power. I had a 97 5.7 sileraldo 250 HP. It felt to have as much and alittle more than it. But like I stated , driveing with the saleperson I didn't get into it. I gave it alittle gas and it shot on up in speed. 282 HP....... .. The power felt good. Cheers Oiler.

I drove the tundra's and the tacomas, the V8 4wd tundra was sweet. Super quiet in the cab, very roomy and comfortable and tons of power. I took it home for a couple of days so had an opportunity to get on it a bit, damn, it kicks into second and third gear with a bang. I ended up going with the 4wd access cab tacoma with the V6 automatic. Just liked the sportier look, the size, and much, much prefer the interior of the tacoma.
