Tundra or Tacoma

I'm thinking of buying a Tacoma DCab 4x4, however it looks like I can get a great deal on a Tundra DCab 4x4 at this time. Basically, with a $1500 cash back on Tundras, the price of the Tundra will be almost the same as the price of the Tacoma. Although I am concerned about gas prices and really like the sportiness of the Tacoma, I'm leaning torward the Tundra. This will by my primary vehicle but will be carting around the wife and three kids every now and them. Looking to the forum members to offer their thoughts and experiences with either vehicle. I anticipate having this vehicle until the tires fall off and want to get this purchase right.

If you own a toyota previously you do get a rebate of 500 off on the tacos cuz I just bought mine last week and that is what I got. You might want to check that.

I would def. say go with the DC. I was in the same boat a few weeks back. Looked at both. Drove both. Tried to load my 3 kids (ages 5,2,1) in the back...and that is what did it. 3 Car seats in the back of a Taco= No room! And the kids are only getting bigger.

I would take the fam down and load them up in both and see which one you're happier with. I can't STAND feet in my back while trying to drive.

Do you still have to own the Taco -- or if you have just owned one in the past few years?
Is it just in your area?
Do you remember if there was an exp. date?

I was told that you not only have to own a toyota, but you have to trade it in to get the $500 cash back. Please advise if anyone has been told anything different. This was the first incentive I've heard of with the tacoma. I told them I could prove previous ownership and still had the 97 tacoma on my insurance card but they wouldn't budge. Some toyota loyalty deal!!! Always seems to be a hook.

Gotenks900, did you trade yours in?
