Reading though your site, the kit looks solid. I do understand you build it as a 5 psi kit for reliability, but with a little internal work, how would you expect it to perform at...8-10 psi?

Hi 5-6psi gives 80 rwhp over stock. With a good set of pistons and rods plus a lowered compression I would expect to see around 350 rwhp I think more if the rev limit could be raised, 5100 rpm seriously limits the amount of boost that can be produced.
I have a motor in my shop and have done some research into pistons and rods. When I recover some of the huge expense of bringing my kit to market I hope to build a motor for higher boost levels. I see no reason why the 2UZFE couldn't produce 400rwhp with the proper internals and boost level Rob

My knowledge of the engine designations for the Tundra is a little lax. The 2UZFE, is that the IForce, or the '04+ VVT-i?

How's the install time on the kit? 5-6 hours?

Boosted Tundra Supercharger Kit

The 2UZFE is the 4.7 V8 or the I-Force All the V8 motors are the same except for the fact that the 05-06 trucks have variable valve timing or VVTi Install time depends on your level of mechanical ability-but I would say 6-8 max Have you visited the website www.boostedtundras.com It is not finished yet but does have quite a bit of info. Yeah, the site is coming along, but I do like what you have done so far.
Another question:
Have you explored the ideas of using the UniChip maps along with your S/C?

Boosted Tundras

Hi I did look into the Unichip and talked to "gadget" from URD www.urdusa.com He has a problem with the fact that it is not end user programmable. It is often difficult to find a dealer to tune your vehicle when needed. The fuel control box that we use is from URD and does a great job of controlling the additional injector. It also has the capability of controlling water/alcohol injection if required. This box can be altered by the end user.
This box is supplied with the kit and has a pre-installed fuel map developed on my truck in the real world--not on a dyno Thanks for your interest Rob

Well it definately sounds like you've got the best kit out there. I had been looking for a way to supercharge ever since the TRD model got pulled from sales.
Soon as I have the money, your kit will be on my list.
(That might be awhile though...as I'm 22, and still trying to pay the truck off.)

I appreciate all the info you've given here over the last couple of posts.
Thanks.
-Andy

What is the difference b/w your s/c and the TRD one? Do you have HP and lbs. torque numbers? What are price differences?

I'll put up some info and Rob can fill anything I do not cover. The TRD charger was a roots blower style, and the one Rob offers is a centrifugal (sp) type. The way the two work is different but the end result is the same. Personally I am more of a fan of the centrifugal style chargers. Dyno graphs are available at his web site but here are the direct links.

Stock the Tundra puts approx. 204HP at the rear wheels.
You can't compair the price difference anymore since TRD does not offer their charger. Your best bet would be to find something on ebay or a forum but they are most likley used and the price will vary with whos selling it and how much they think its worth. In my oppinion the TRD charger was a flop, the power it seemed to show from dyno charts I have seen is pretty poor. I dont have any charts on hand from it but I'm sure with a little digging you could find something. Robs charger looks very good and is probably what I will end up going with. Also if you look at their site you can see a water to air intercooler in development also. I'm kind of in the same boat as Andy (deebsTundra), I'm only 21 but the trucks paid for so hopefully I will be hooking up with Rob for a kit by spring of next year. What I would really have wanted was a turbo but the price of having a custom made set up and the down time on my truck is not feasable. If someone were to further invest in some pistons and rods from Lextreme http://www.lextreme.com/pistons-rods.html and then throw on a smaller pully then the Tundra would haul. With the addition of an intercooler (especially a water to air one) you could run even higher boost. The biggest problem right now is getting a computer that could control everything. The Unichip only does A/F ratios and such from what I understand. If someone could develop a unit with programable shift points and more user control it would be incredible. Hope that all helps haha I just about wrote an essay here =\

So with the sc installed for either one, is a higher octane gasoline required or can I still pump the good old 87 stuff?
