93 4runner Idler Armer Cost

How much does it usually cost to replace the Idler Arm on the front suspention.
How does it usually go out. What causes it.
How much would it cost to replace it with labor and parts together.

Usually the plastic bushings wear out. You can get a rebuild kit from toyota for pretty cheap and fix it yourself. Do an internet search, you'll find writeups on how to do it. It's supposed to be pretty easy.

Funny someone brought that up...

Mine was out when I tried to realign my truck and the the off road place I go to replaced it with a dud, then put another in... dud, and another which was a dud.

Eventually they advised me to go witha stock idler arm and put this brace type thing over it and it worked out great, about 200 more with labor though.

I've heard that when replacing the idler arm on a Toyota truck, don't go for a genuine Toyota replacement part but instead go for a Moog replacement part. The Moog idler arm is suppose to be stronger and better built than the ones Toyota make. Summit Racing is a Moog dealer just in case you need a part number/price.

My torsion bars are cranked up a bit and I believe that is what caused my two idler arm failures. I need to get one of these braces to see if they will help the next time I replace my idler arm. Both NWOR and Downey sell their own version of the brace.
