Which shocks should I buy for my 4Runner?

Guys, I'm new to this site and was looking for some advice.

I have a 98 4runner which is badly in need of new front shocks. I do a lot of highway driving (25K per year) and some minor off roading during camping/fishing trips.

What brand of shocks offers good performance at a reasonable price? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Um, Ranchos are nice, I myself like to run sensatrac, its an afordable long lasting shock, allthough I will warn you that ther still arent quite perfected, and furthermore handle stoping and acceleration much different than your stocks did or the standard aftermaket will, they are a stiffer sport style but they actualy dont feel like it, but rather feel soft from the drivers point of view, talk about your oxy-moron huh. but for highway driving and slight off road use, theyre wonderful, you might want to call the dealer and ask them what brand of Modafied Mcphearson struts they sell for your 98 then see if anyone will see them to you for cheaper, allthough I do support dealers Toyota, SUbaru and GM especialy, because they will give you a competative price to the aftermarket companies so shop around, and warenty the repair, many times in suspensions they will warenty the repair for the life of the part.

Maverick.
