Greetings, all.

I'm new here and thinking about buying a 4Runner. I was looking for any helpful advise on things to look out for, etc. This weekend I drove a '98 w/51,000 miles, had just about everything but leather and the owner is asking $19,000 U.S. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any input.

Hey, I just bought a 96 4runner and it's great. I found it to be expensive. I think a 4runner will last for ever if you treat it right. I would suggest you ask for old receipts of services just to make sure it was serviced. Mine wasn't and I had to invest a lot of money in it to get the engine back on track.

Thanks for the response. I talked to the guy again last night and he did have all of his service records (all dealer service. As far as I can tell it is great shape, drives great and has plenty of power. I'm talking to the bank today, so hopeful;ly it will be mine by the end of the week. Good luck with yours, ignacionl.

run a carfax on it.
There are two recalls on the 4Runner that you may want to check.
1)1996-early 1997 head gasket recall
2)1996-1998 rear spring recall
