Transmission noise

I have a 96 Tacoma (AT). Everytime I come to a complete stop, a sound comes from under the truck. It sounds like a "clunk". Trani?? You can also feel the "clunk" It shifts ok, no problems there. It happens when I am driving at higher speeds then come to a complete stop. Any ideas??

Thanks,
George.

do you have any lift oon the rear leafs? block or shackles...I think they call it axle wrap... someone told me its not bad? Im not 100% sure but my truck does it too. It started doing it after i put the 2" blocks on.

Axle wrap... worn rear springs will cause that. Also greasing your slip yoke, zerks and u-joint will cure the problem temporarily. Tacos are notorious for axle wrap.

Trani

It does have a shakle lift in the rear. The shakle is geasable. I will grease it up and grease the rest. What would be a more permanent fix. Spring pack??

Thanks,

Yeah, a permanent fix would be new leaf packs or you could get a traction bar.
