01 Taco 4WD: Can't Find RS3000 Sec. Module - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

Vehicle: 2001 TRD 4WD, SR5, V6, double-cab.
What I want: Keyless Entry

I have the RS3000 sec. monitor in the lower center dash. I called the dealer with the vin and they say it has the sec. system installed. I have no remote for this truck so I'm not sure if it really does have the Control module (ECU) installed. I looked under the driver's seat and I can find no module there.

Can anyone be more specific as where to find the ECU for this vehicle?

Check up by the driver's kick panel or behind it. The other place to look would be around the steering column under the dash.

The dealer should be able to get you a new fob for this unit as well.

I'll give a look in those locations.

P.S. You are the man! Found the module there behind the drivers left foot kick panel.

I guess I'll try an aftermarket remote key to see if it works.

Update: Bought the Toyota remote at KeylessRide dot com. $74 - paid too much.
