1995 Tacoma Recall

Got a letter from Toyota today stating my 95 Taco has been recalled for head gaskets which are not leaking as of yet. [along with other models]Too bad they wouldnt recall my 95 runnner that I just traded off two weeks ago THOSE GASKETS WERE LEAKING!!! All Toyota could say was that they were sorry to hear it was leaking. Oh well Guess Ill take advantage of it and get the Taco done. Toyota needs to address the gasket problem on all models rather than pick and choose by vin#s. Sure miss my Runner.

I've got a 99 4runner with a v6 in it, should I be worried?

I couldn't say for sure but I think the head gasket problems were only to do with the 3.0L V6's that came in the Pick-ups and 4Runners. I'm not sure of the engine number 3VZ or something like that. I think they were different than the 3.0L that came in the Camery's etc. Anyhow, Toyota came good for the head gaskets in my 1990 pick-up and my dads 1992 4Runner. Mine actually blew, dads were just leaking. Dads were leaking a after a couple years, mine blew in 2003 with 373000kms and they still replaced them under the recall.
