Question 99 Tacoma price

Hi,
I just registered, since I am planning to buy my first Tacoma - I had a `90 4 runner - after not having a four wheeled transportation for two years. (I rode a motorcycle)
I am looking at a 99 Tacoma, AC, Pw, PL, Casette, PS, Bedliner- not sprayed, rear sliding window, Air bags, 14000 miles.
What is a fair price for a truck like this in southern CA(93023 zi)?
Nada price is $11925, KBB is $9795 both assuming that the vehicle is in excellent shape. How came that there is $2130 difference between the two main carpricing guides?
Any suggestion will be appreciated if you could tell me what to look out for when I go and see the truck. I think I know the basics but since I have not owned a Tacoma before, one of you guys might know more what to look for.
Thanks for any help,
David

I just bought a 99 TRD Tacoma with 90,000 miles for $11,500 which was an alright deal. If you find one for less than 12 or 13 grand with 14,000 miles like you said, then that is a great deal. Oh by the way i am from the Portland Oregon area.

You didn't state whether it was a 4 or 6 cyl and 2 or 4 wheel drive or if it was a reg or x-cab. Any of these would make a pretty good difference in value.

I'm not sure how strong the toyota truck's values is out there but here they go for way more than the Kelly blue book retail value.

The 99 4x4 X-cab V6's retail Kelly blue book value is around $11500-$12k but if in excellent condition sell for around $14-$16k + here in Hawaii depending on condition and extras. I understand that it may be different where you're at though...

In my opinion, if you get it for around the retail value, that's a good deal, you'll love the Toyota trucks!

PS. is that 14,000 miles or did you make a typo? 14K miles is extremely low and definitely will increase the value of that truck significantly.

The truck is 10 going on 11 years old, driven only 1300 -1400 miles a year.
Its not broke in good. Lack of use probably has caused some deteriation
of seals, tires and other rubber components. You could buy a later model
Tacoma maybe even an '04 or '05 for the prices you stated.
