I wanna do it myself too, engine swap won't gonna be my problem, its just the wirings, electornics, injection system and computer hooking up with my OEM wirings.

I talked to E L Prototypes about it...

google search:
This domain is under construction and will be available soon. Please contact us by e-mail at elproto@aol.com or by phone at 626-812-4358. www.elprototypes.com/

the guy said he would do a 1jz swap, about 1/3 the $$$ and still puttin' about 280 hp stock at the flywheel.

You would have to get the harnesses to someone like them to match them up and he said that alone costs about $1500 (you send them the two harnesses and two ECU's and they send it back ready to go)

don't forget that the mount for the engine would probably have to be custom made.

also, you need to get a driveshaft custom cut for the truck.

if you are serious about it...these guys seem to really have it together. I think I am personally gonna work on a different project for now...but I do think it would be awesome to have a 1 or 2 jz setup in a taco!!!

Good luck Bro and reply back to this post if you find anything really usefull for future projects.
