Technical problems

I am a new user and as my father has owned toyota for 20 years and im onto my third one myslef i though i better sign up.
Right one thing im a little confused about is there are categories for certian popular models and there is no where to ask technial questions eg there is no section for pre 1990's corolla and corona's. and i need some technical advide on getting my thing running again. moderators sorry if this is off topica but i had no where else to put it.
if anyone could help me with my 1986 Japanese Import 1-SE Corona (one of the multi point injection models) im from Nz so most were carby untill about 1990 !!
im having ingition trouble so if anyone knows a thing or two about Efi systems and electronc distributors could they please pm or email me .
AFter a cylinder head freshen up my car seems to be missing from time to time only after the engine is warm, the rev counter goes all loopy and starts reading wrong right before its starts to missfire it feels like its only running on 2 or 3 cylinders when it does this.
when it goes funny its usually when trying to rev above 2000rpm and sometime you can change down get the revs up and rev the snot out of it and it goes away.
I have assumed the tacho reads off the dizzy and because the tacho read funy before the car goes nuts, im thinking there is a problem with my dizzy but i have no idea how an electronic one works!!! i need this car so i can get to work and school so if anybody can help that would be greatly appreciated !!!!!!!!!!
