I'm pretty sure I have an addiction to 1980's vintage Toyotas.

The first car my parents bought brand new was a 1984 Celica GT 5-speed that they loved. They had to sell it to my uncle because some little punk was born and would cry and cry in the back seat.

Very nice. I've owned several Mitsubishi Cordias in the past, which are a very similar shape, and wouldn't mind owning one of those Celicas one day. As the saying goes, "it's hip to be square"

ahhh, the memories....my parents had an 83 GT with those same wheels and fender trims. The headlight was exposed and it did not have the GT-S moniker on it. ...just GT. They absolutely loved that car but had to sell it when my brother was born and replaced it with a VW Vanagon
I should post up a few pics of the 12,000 mile 1985 Celica GT-S black on black Convertible at the dealership.
This is also very, very cool.
PS: I hate the 22R... worst engine for the Celica. Dead reliable, dead boring. Feels like driving a truck (for good reason). Stupid 22R.
Jeff
You should post those pictures!
