I remembered reading that GT stands for Grand Touring, CE for Classic Edition, and XLE for eXtra Luxury Edition.

I might be wong about this but isn't S type/class concidered the highes/best class in Japan. I wonder if this has any thing to do with it.

Yes, it does stand for Special Edition. But I'd like to think of it as SE-R, SE-"Rare", since it's a 5-speed. I should definitely add that R, come to think of it, just to scare those ricers away. :grin:
