Sounds like the same story for every iteration of the IS. It will be interesting to see the final version!

Will be waiting...next car perhaps? It would be nice if it had a stick, but yeah, the demand ain't there.

This will in all liklihood be my dad's next car sometime down the line. I want to see the IS-F. I won't be able to talk him into one of those though.

Remember this is the regular 350 (sport and luxury), the F sport will be a tighter car.

I'd buy it just because of the LFA gauges.

agreed. i imagine the final look of the car will look like a miniature GS and ES combined.

The ES looks much cleaner than the GS and its predator grill. Of course, the GS F Sport is hoot to drive compared to the ES and its soft suspension. Like JC said, the IS is the best of both cars. I think for any spirited driver, the F Sport package is a must.

The early ES's used to have to played both luxury and sporty roles but the newer ES' has nothing in common with the IS except maybe some styling cues. The new IS will be a GS junior with slightly more emphasis on sport.

Don't these look like down-sized LFA wheels?

My mom has a new 2012 Is 350 I Like it however the back seat is too small and the interior is decent. 2014 Look's similar on the outside to the older model and rear end look's very similar. I loved the 2013 Avalon I looked at one today but for the price on the Avalon limited it's more in tune with Lexus at that price vs a Toyota.

I'm thinking the Gs is more in tune with what I might be looking for . Lexus service and better overall attention to detail is a deal breaker.

The Es and Toyota's new Avalon 2013 Share the same underpinnings which is nothing new . Lexus has made serious improvements on the model line for 2012 and 13 model which incorporates the new spindled grill. The 2014 Is model look's more like a refresh in term's on interior design vs exterior. The overall exterior design down to the mirror's and side profile very much look's like a Is to todays standards. The front end is where the rework was made and applied to grill and headlights. Rear look's very much Es/Is (2013).
The 8 speed is something that took the Is to another level when Lexus applied the 8 speed on the flagship Ls for 2007.

Always liked the IS. Might look at buying one new, or used, IS in a few years if I don't replace my 6th gen Cam with a 7.5.
