Semi-metallic, or Ceramic pads??

I am looking for new brake pads for my Tacoma, and I am unsure whether or not to get semi-metallic, or ceramic. Can anyone tell me which one they prefer??

Thanks Rosco

Ceramic, they make virtually no noise while semi-metallics squeal a lot. Granted, ceramics do cost more, but to me it was worth it. Also, they make less brake dust.

I've had semi-metallic on 3 different vehicles; I wish I'd gotten ceramic for my Camry, cause these screech when I stop certain ways.

I have heard rumors about certain brake pads eating rotors, but I've heard that ceramic aren't supposed to do that. I have heard about, I believe they are called carbon metallic, eating rotors really quickly. So as you all can tell, I've heard a lot, but know very little!!!

Cool

It's not the material. It's how HARD the pad is designed to be. A track pad is going to run through OEM, and cheap replacement rotors.

A street pad is not...

Same thing I heard.

I just had regular pads on the rear of my Camry but one of the pads got bent. I returned it a few months later because of the Bosch lifetime warranty. They replaced them with the ceramics. I'm not complaining.
