Exclamation Power Upgrades for 22RE

Here is a nice link to another forum I came across, which Ted from engblder wrote about simple mods to get more power from your 22RE. Some may have seen this, but for those who haven't I hope it offers some insite.

not necessarily a "power upgrade" but a high quality big brake kit so you can stop all your extra power

Hi,

Is it possible to repower a '95 Toyota PU that came, I believe, a 22R 4 cylinder engine with a Toyota V-6?

Thank you.

Power

I have a 94 Toyota pickup, with a 22re.. the only real way you are really gunna get a lot of power out of these motors is to do forced induction.. I just ordered a low boost turbo kit.. i will let you know shortly how the truck responds to the boost

What is included in the kit? Are you rebuilding the engine? I'm thinking about going this route.

94 pickup

alright, so i have an interior problem.. I have the standard bench seat in the truck, and i think that with all the money that is going into the motor, the interior deserves some love as well.. I went ahead and got the seats and center console out of a 4-runner.. i also ordered some sporty bucket seats with 4-point harnesses.. does anybody know how difficult this will be to install?

hey guys, i have a problem. i have a 92 toyota pickup 3vze and the engine coolant is disappearing slowly. i suspect a torn head gasket and i did an oil change recently and found that choclatey oil, when water and oil mix, on the inside of the oil fill cap. what advice do you guys have? should i go ahead and shoot for a blown head gasket and repair it?... or... something else?

Chris, check the recall replacement info on that head gasket. Search the forum or visit http://www.toyotaownersonline.com/sscinfo and put your VIN in. You might be lucky and they'll do it for free!
