The IFS was removed and a '85 straight axle was added/welded on. To get the lift a longer front spring purch was welded, longer rear shackles and taller leaf springs installed...

Check on pirate 4x4 site and do a search on "SAS"-straight axle swap

Hope this helps...

Below are some pics I found on the net..(front end conversion)..Since then I have seen people convert their front end to coil over type springs instead of leaves...

1999 Chevy S10 4X4 Custom Truck Bed

Once the lifted truck was officially a inclose dragger, it was instance to raise the interior of the truck. The dash and door panels were smoothed and prepped for makeup while a custom edifice housing and utterer box was shapely and also set up to be painted to match. The seats were wrapped in red and wear leather and a few billet goodies were bolted on for a lowercase flash. The bed also received a custom furnishings treatment. Once every of the interior panels were ready for paint, they were empty out and put in the makeup booth with the truck in order to obtain a slick red humble with plenty of grayness burning licks both inside and out.
