i have a 93 pick up with code 14 blinking, the speedo doesn't work until you drive down the road a little way, and i was wondering what some problems would be if the the tps was bad.

Code 14 "IGF signal from igniter is not input to ECM for 6
consecutive ignition." Right from the 1993 FSM. Looks like you got an igniter problem. Unhook the battery for 30 mins. It will clear the codes, if it comes back. You will know for sure.

Diagnostics page from the FSM:

Symptoms of a bad TPS:

Bad fuel mileage
Bad throttle response

I also got a code 14 and traced it back to an exposed wire going to the coil. A little tape and problem solved. Hopefully your problem is this easy.

Mr moderator, a little FYI. if there is an ignitor problem it does not start. If you want to clear codes just pull the 15 amp efi fuse. That said the code is a catch all. Exposed wires or various relay issues could be the problem. Ck the coil wiring.
