Emergency Hood Release?

I noticed one strand of wire broke, on my 89' SR5 2WD hood release cable. Now, the hood will not release. Is there another way to get the hood up? HELP!!!

The wire strand broke right at the hood release lever.

Use a pair of pliers to pull on it while have somebody gently push down on the hood. There is no other cable to release the hood.

Another option if the pliers don't work is to remove the entire latch. I'm not sure which grill you have. I had an 85' that the latch was completely frozen on. I use wobble extensions and a socket on a 1/4" drive ratchet and removed the latch bolts. Then the hood opened with the latch and all. You do have to cut the cable but you're going to be replacing it anyway.
