1992 pickup WILL NOT STOP STALLING.

I have a 1992 pickup, 22re engine with fuel injection. When I start the truck, it will run, then stall, even if I keep the gas pedal down. A friend of mine messed with the turn signal bulb on the passenger side, it died instantly—and ever since, my truck will not run for more than a full minute. I replaced the ECU, but that was not the issue. The problem is not readable, since the feedback when diagnosed by machine is not clear. I am thinking it may be electrical, and something may have fused or grounded out. Any ideas?

Try checking the coil wires to see if they are shorting out. Also check the distributor cap for cracks and other wires in the ignition system. Hopefully it's something simple. Also, pull the codes to see if anything pops up.

Front or rear turn signal bulb? The battery and fuse box are on the front passenger side. Did he remove the battery or cables or something in that area while messing with the bulb? If he did check that all of the battery terminal connections are tight and hooked up. If everything looks ok try backtracking and undo whatever he did. Unplug the turn signal, check for pinched or grounded wiring, etc.

Check the fuses and fuse links first both inside and under hood.

will it run if you play with the throttle? if it does you may have a bad connection on your MAF sensor, or it could be fried all-together.
