92 Wont Fire up!?

I recently posted about my truck having problems with the engine head gasket. After I did a Whole new top end on the truck all was good. Well the other day I noticed my truck was not starting very good. So With a brand new optima battery already installed I new it was my alternator. I stopped by the local auto store to have them do a quick on the vehicle check of the situation and they told me it was my battery? I thought they didnt know what they where talking about cause I knew for a fact that the battery was new. I took back my recently purchased alternator and on the way home the truck suddenly lost acceleration then all the dummy lights(seatbelt, battery,A/T temp etc) came on and I coasted to a parking lot. When I went back to remove the battery I noticed that the battery had shifted at some point and the power steering pully had GRINDED itself into the battery. I went and picked up ANOTHER optima battery (not under warranty for stupidity) After installing it, The truck would not start? It will crank.

After all that I have troubleshooted , All fuses look to be good. The toyota mechanic said it will NOT be the ecu because the check engine light does not come on and STAY on while cranking, I do not have spark from the coil however the coil resistance test primary and secondary come back good.....Any Suggestion or insight would be VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!

If you don't have a check engine light that means your ecu is not getting power. Did you check the fusible links and the ground wires? How did you check the fuses to determine that they are good? Test light or just visual?

You are right I need to do a power test on them. I just visually checked them.
Fusible links<? Like the ones inline with the wires? I think I got all That I am aware of.
And yes there is no check engine light so do you know for sure that the ECU is getting no power?!

Thanks

The CEL is one of the indicator for power to the ECU. How did you check the fusible links? Yes, they are the ones that looks like wires.

Pull the EFI fuse out and take a close look at it to see if it is blown.

I think you are looking at the EFI relay. The EFI fuse is a small one probably a 10A, yellow fuse, or a 15A blue fuse. Should be in the same fuse box with the relay.

Thanks for all the help It looks like it was just by chance the battery went out the same time the truck stopped working. the EFI relay would sit there and click once the key was turned into acc. like it was supposed to, but the clicking was not making a full connection trough it......Therefor making the check engine light not coming on and the ECU not getting any power! The only way I was able to figure this out was a ohms meter! Hope this helps someone else out there!
