A big hammer and a small hammer worked for me.

USA u joint

2lb hammer and 8 oz ball peen, like new echo owner said.sit the drive shaft in a vice or on a red brick end hanging over and pound them out.if you had a press that is the ideal way to do it.

That works too, but you will need a very big vise.

Been there done that.

Sometimes they sieze and a press is the only way without damaging the shaft. Take it to a driveshaft shop.

ok, i took it to a guy and he did it and installed new ones for 40 bucks. well worth it.

however, i didnt know until after i took it off that you have to mark it so you put it back on the same way. if i did put it back on backwards (theres only 2 possible ways to do it on these trucks), will it make any difference? will it vibrate? will it screw anything up?

Some times it may, and some times it may not. Marking it is just a good practices, just in case if the driveshaft was balanced previously, it will still be. As it is right now, put it back on and drive it, if you feel vibration that you haven't felt before, rotate it 180 and see how it is.
